Fire Aboard “Marie Maersk” Contained: Cargo Secured, Voyage to Resume — Contact Hongmingda Logistics for Final-Mile Delivery

Singapore, 31 August 2025 — Authorities and Maersk Line confirmed this morning that the blaze aboard the 19,630-TEU ultra-large container vessel “Marie Maersk” has been fully extinguished and the ship has been declared safe to continue its scheduled voyage.

The fire, which broke out in a forward cargo hold on 28 August while the vessel was transiting the Malacca Strait, was quickly isolated by the crew and cooled with CO₂ and boundary water. Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) teams later boarded to verify structural integrity and rule out re-ignition. No injuries were reported, and all 24 crew members remain on board.

Container-by-container inspections carried out overnight show that cargo—including electronics, apparel and automotive parts—has remained unaffected. “Temperature sensors and thermal imaging confirm the integrity of every unit,” said Maersk in a statement. “The Marie Maersk is cleared to sail and will berth at the next port of call as planned.”

Hongmingda Logistics, the appointed China-landside partner for this sailing, is already preparing for rapid customs clearance and final-mile delivery. “Customers can expect their shipments to arrive on the original ETA,” said Ms. Li Wen, General Manager of Hongmingda Logistics. “Our dedicated teams are standing by to coordinate trucking, warehousing and last-mile drops—just send us your container number or B/L reference.”
