Beijing, 23 September 2025 – Qatar Airways and China Southern Airlines used a joint press conference at the Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) Terminal 3 to unveil an immediate frequency hike ahead of the 1-7 October Golden Week holiday, when millions of Chinese tourists and shippers traditionally take to the skies.
Effective 25 September 2025, the two oneworld partners will synchronise schedules and aircraft on the Beijing-Doha corridor:
Qatar Airways: daily QR 895/896 operated with A350-1000 (359 seats / 18 lower-deck positions)
China Southern: 4 weekly CZ 333/334 operated with A350-900 (314 seats / 16 positions)
The combination lifts weekly frequencies from 7 to 11 and injects roughly 160 tonnes of additional belly-hold space into the market—welcome relief for exporters who have faced 3-4 day backlogs since mid-September.
